DUO Ruhadze & Gorban
Duets for two violins are a popular form of music making. The duet is a musical dialogue. Playing duets also presupposes the concept of "playing", a kind of "fun": "I played like that! How are you going to answer me?"
The well-known concert violist Igor Ruhadze for many years played together with violinist Daria Gorban. They both got an education first at Moscow States Conservatory and then at Amsterdam Conservatory. The Duo Ruhadze /Gorban shares many years of successful working together. Their first CD with Locatelli sonatas for 2 violins got great reviews: ‘brilliantly and at times breathtakingly performed’ ( Gramophone). They regularly perform programs for 2 violins, playing music from the 18th century till the 21st. The New CD box (3CDS) with complete works for 2 violins by Boccherini will be released in December 2023.
